TOMS
proudly announces it has helped restore sight to 500,000 people globally through its One for One business model. The TOMS Eyewear collection was launched in 2011 to aid the 285 million people around the world who are blind or visually impaired. For every sunwear and optical frame sold, TOMS works to restore sight to one person. In an effort to help end preventable blindness, TOMS teamed up with 10 sustainable eyecare organizations that are all members of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB). Patients are given a comprehensive eye exam and diagnosis by locally based ophthalmologists and optometrists who then restore the patient’s sight though surgery, medical treatment or corrective lenses. TOMS and its giving partners remain committed to helping those in remote communities where getting access to care can be difficult and strive to restore sight for people in need.
