Behind the scenes she works her marketing magic, whether it’s launching a groundbreaking campaign or planning optical’s most attended live events such as the Vision Monday Global Leadership Summit. For over 25 years, she has inspired her team and colleagues with outstanding leadership, forward-thinking vision and dedication to superior customer service. Her professionalism and convivial personality has earned her the respect and friendships of not only her Jobson Optical colleagues but those from the industry as well. SHE is NANCY NESS, VP Marketing-Retail Optical Group, and it’s time to put her in the spotlight—we’re thrilled to honor our Nancy, selected as one of Folio:’s 2017 Top Women in Media in the Corporate Visionaries category. Along with this year’s class of top women, Nancy will be honored at a special awards luncheon in NYC.

Now in its fourth year, the Folio: program celebrates the creativity, innovation and accomplishments of women in the magazine media industry. Honorees are women who have fearlessly moved their teams, brands and companies forward, making strides in their respective markets and creating lasting impressions on their colleagues. Not only has Nancy achieved all of this but she imparts her expertise on her young staff of marketing professionals by proactively fostering a supportive environment to develop their growth. I experienced this firsthand early in my Jobson career as a marketing coordinator on Nancy’s team, eventually promoted to senior marketing manager. I have since joined 20/20 editorial, but I owe a large part of my professional growth to Nancy’s mentoring. The most valuable advice Nancy has given me is encouraging me to embrace my inner confidence, and I know I wouldn’t be where I am today in my career as executive editor without her.
