Shamir Insight

Shamir Autograph II+ is an enhanced lens that addresses everyday visual demands with the incorporation of two new digital technologies: Close-Up and Natural Posture..

Features: An upgraded version of the Shamir Autograph II design, Shamir Autograph II+ is a back-surfaced, digital freeform design that meets the everyday needs of today’s presbyopes. Shamir Autograph II+ provides wide fields of view and a personalized Rx based on a patient’s selected frame, utilizing As-Worn Technology. Shamir’s new Close-Up technology adjusts the reading zone inset of the lens, allowing for a more comfortable visual experience for both reading and intermediate viewing. ESSENTIAL BLUE LENSES
Essilor of America

The Essential Blue Series brand of blue light filtering lenses combines harmful blue light protection and clarity in one lens.

Features: Essential Blue Series lenses deliver up to three times more protection from harmful blue light than standard clear lenses, according to Essilor. Essilor defines harmful blue light as the blue-violet wavelengths between 415 and 455 nm on the light spectrum that are believed to be most toxic to retinal cells. Emerging research has pointed to a possible link between exposure to these wavelengths and long-term vision issues such as age-related macular degeneration.

While Essential Blue Series lenses help protect from harmful blue light, they do allow for exposure to beneficial blue light—which Essilor defines as 465 to 495 nm on the light spectrum—which has been shown to play an important role in the sleep/wake cycle, memory, cognitive performance and other factors that contribute to general wellness.

Availability: Before the launch of Essential Blue Series, Harmful Blue Light protection was available with Varilux digital lenses, Eyezen+ single vision lenses and Crizal Prevencia lenses, making up approximately 15 percent of Essilor’s core product portfolio. With Essential Blue Series, blue light protection in a clear lens will be available in all Essilor progressive and single vision lenses, comprising 100 percent of the company’s core product portfolio.

PRIZM DARK GOLF LENS
Oakley

The new Prizm Dark Golf lens from Oakley features the same performance benefits as its Prizm Sport Golf lens, but it’s a darker lens that is optimized for sunny days.

Features: The Oakley Prizm Dark Golf lens brings out fine detail with precise light filtering that’s specifically engineered for the golf environment. It enhances visual contrast, and the color of the lens has a more neutral aesthetic for those who prefer a more casual look on the course. The lens helps golfers see grass health and textures that might otherwise be missed, making it easier to see transitions between the fairway, fringe and rough. Improves contrast so golfers can spot differences to fine-tune their approach to the hole. The separation of colors creates more depth cues to gauge distance for any shot from the tee box to the green, helping golfers easily differentiate grass conditions and grain direction to predict ball speed.
