Kenmark Group adds the Interchange System to its Jhane Barnes men’s line. The system is incorporated into a five-piece ophthalmic collection, giving consumers an innovative way to customize their frames with interchangeable temples. Inspired by the aesthetics of menswear designer Jhane Barnes, the frames are made of titanium, feature a three-piece compression mount system and a self-locking temple design and come with two extra sets of slide locking, interchangeable temples, which can be easily switched. The frames in the new collection are compatible with all temples in the system. Temple options include wide, colorful, translucent plastic; thinner, striated plastic in contemporary masculine hues; and a temple with a laser-engraved, signature Jhane Barnes pattern. Frames are equipped with spring hinges, adjustable nosepads and eco-friendly corn demo lenses.
PHILOSOPHY: “The idea for the Jhane Barnes Interchange System arose from our desire to provide consumers eyewear that corresponds with their varied fashion wardrobes and still purchase only one pair of lenses. We found the most dramatic way to do this was with a three-piece mount design since the temples are the main visual aspect of the frame,” says Jason Wehlage, Kenmark product designer. “What we soon realized is providing three options for one frame is a huge benefit in the current economy.”

MARKETING: A countercard highlighting the new Interchange System and a display showcasing one frame and the complementary temples and featuring a pull-out drawer to store an additional frame and temples are available. Each frame comes with an aluminum case.
