Clayton Franklin Spectacles, a luxury eyewear collection handmade in Japan, is now available from Hiero House. Inspired by the turn of the 20th century, Clayton Franklin creates classic and timeless eyewear paired with innovative technology for unique styling. The latest collection features a range of shapes in metals, acetates and combinations, with some styles available in titanium and buffalo horn. The collection’s color palette mimics the industrial look of 1908 along with intricate detailing such as sterling silver hinges, highlighting the brand’s handmade Japanese craftsmanship. The frames’ two-piece adjustable temples distribute the temple weight to subtle pressure points. Mechanically attached nosepads are immune to weld breakage. There are 60-plus styles in the collection with five colors for each style.

Bill Clayton and Ken Franklin were elementary schoolmates in a small township in Uppingham, England. Constantly teased for the thick, nerdy glasses they wore, the pair set out on a mission to redefine spectacles and make eyewear “cool.” During the creation of their first frames, Franklin died from a mysterious illness. Clayton vowed to Franklin’s family that he would carry out their mission—realizing their dream of Clayton Franklin Spectacles.
