“Hi, how are you today? That’s some weather we’ve been having lately, isn’t it? Do you have big plans for the weekend?” If this sounds familiar, it is because these are the common niceties we exchange with patients on a day-to-day basis. And while you can gather some information from these conversational pleasantries, you won’t have anywhere near what you truly need in order to help craft wonderful eyewear for your patients. Often what keeps us from gathering all of the information we need from our patients is that we don’t want to make them “uncomfortable” by asking them a bunch of questions. If you rush the patient through this part of the process, they will likely end up with eyewear that doesn’t work as well as it could. I know you agree.
