The book details how six decades ago, Fred Friedfeld, with the help of his wife Mimi, paved the way for ClearVision Optical to become one of the leading frame distribution companies. In the late ’80s and ’90s, the ambitious Friedfeld couple began transitioning the management of the company to their two eldest sons David and Peter Friedfeld, who run the ClearVision today. The company’s story was particularly intriguing to the book’s publisher, American Historical Press because, “ClearVision is a wonderful example of how a multigenerational family business has exponentially increased their success with time,” notes Robert Ruttenberg, editorial director at American Historical Press.
The release of “The New York State Gateway to America” coincides with ClearVision Optical’s year long 60th anniversary celebration message of “Making A Difference for 60 Years.” This theme builds upon the company’s reputation for philanthropic activism, which has been responsible for helping hundreds of charities including The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund, Newsday Charities, Long Island Cares and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
