With Vision Expo on the verge of making Las Vegas its western front, 20/20 decided on a Las Vegas photo shoot starring numerous people working in a variety of ways in the city. Looking to take that extra step we reached out to David Cassidy, who was in the process of creating a show recreating the hey daze of the infamous Rat Pack with David as a special guest delivering a fan-focused take on Bobby Darin. The intention was to have this renewed Pack on the cover along with David but at the last second he decided to shy out for the cover take and let that glory fall on the other performers. But he was excited about picking out a pair of Kenmark sunglasses from their Hush Puppies collection and sporting those shades on a full page in our “High Rollers” feature. Cassidy was cooperative, patient and completely gracious in acknowledging some past interview and review instances I wrote years before in both Hit Parader and W magazine. He recalled minute details and then jokingly asked if he could keep the specs as a reward for his fond memories. It was my pleasure gifting him with his new sun shades.
