Charmant USA adds four styles with a geisha theme to its Nodoka collection, focusing on motifs and decorations found in traditional ornaments worn by the geisha, a term used in Japan for a “person of the arts.” Two models (10152 and 10154) feature delicate temple etchings, representing “ryusui” or flowing streams, on stainless-steel temples. Model 10155 has a cherry blossom pattern along the front and temples, reflecting the different seasonal motifs used in a geisha’s dress. The traditional patterns on a hair ornament worn by a geisha are highlighted on Model 10157. Frame colors include red, black, brown, orange, pink and purple.

PHILOSOPHY: “The geisha is such a recognizable representation of Japanese culture. It was a natural inspiration to capture some of the beautiful decorative elements found in the traditional dress worn by a geisha in the Nodoka Collection,” says Dee Berghuys, Charmant director of product and marketing.

MARKETING: Merchandising materials include a window display in red and black lacquer reminiscent of Japanese furniture, display tray and logo block. Individual cushions in a Japanese textile
complete the set.
