It was FULL paddock access courtesy of Formula One World Champion LEWIS HAMILTON at the recent American Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, where Hamilton clinched the series title for the sixth time in his career. And considering this 20/20 correspondent is a lifetime fanatic for GP racing, the access and hospitality provided by the Mercedes team was beyond extraordinary, a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Fitting that the occasion marks the public debut of the new Lewis Hamilton Sunglass collection from POLICE with DE RIGO REM hosting a special spectator booth.

Teaming up with fellow enthusiast Aaron Mozes (pictured with Hamilton), general manager of Pearle Vision Broomfield in Colorado, we literally ate breakfast just a table over from Hamilton at the Mercedes Paddock Club dining room. Other VIP treats included an intensely detailed pit area tour, constant monitoring of all racing and race prep activities, and even being on hand as Hamilton checked the computer stats while still in his F1 racecar after pulling in to the pit garage.

ECP Mozes’ meet-and-greet was an event highlight as were the resounding number of fans eager to buy Hamilton shades. Note as well that he constantly wore his signature shields every day at all events. Can we get on line for dibs to next year’s race?!
