Nouveau launches Fleur de Lis Eyewear, a collection for the mature woman who values classic, feminine styling but needs frames deep enough to fit progressive lenses. The initial collection contains eight styles—six metals and two plastics. Detailing consists of handcrafted decorations made with Swarovski crystals and epoxy inlays and includes a filigree floral design on a split temple and subtle accents of color and texture. Silhouettes are feminine, but unfussy and airy. Two frames are semi-rimless. The collection’s palette ranges from soft plums and light corals to rich berry shades paired with muted gold and platinum tones.

MARKETING:
Merchandising materials include an in-store display and brand brochure.  For a limited time, ECPs will receive a Fleur de Lis pen as a gift-with-purchase. Each frame comes with a case.

PHILOSOPHY:
“This collection was created to address the styling preferences of the mature woman who  values style but doesn’t want to pay designer prices,” says Marj McGraw, Nouveau  co-president. “The colors and shapes are age-appropriate and the styling is feminine,
yet simple enough to keep the frames from competing with a woman’s jewelry.”

InSight
The fleur-de-lis is a stylized design of either an iris or a lily and is used both decoratively and symbolically. While it has appeared on countless European coats of arms and flags over the centuries, the fleur-de-lis is particularly associated with the French monarchy in a historical context, and currently with the Spanish monarchy as the only remaining monarchs of the House of Bourbon.
