Following its innovative lead in footwear, Converse has now taken on the sunglass sport lifestyle category with the Carbon Hybrid sunglass collection, available from Rem Eyewear. The new line features sunglasses made of a proprietary combination of carbon graphite and TR-90 nylon that provides both strength and flexibility, yet is extremely lightweight. The premier collection is comprised of eight sunglasses, each fitted with polarized lenses. In addition to a fusion of materials, the frames also reflect a blending of fashion and sports lifestyle sensibilities with classic wraps, fashion-forward modern aviators and bold rectangles in such statement-making colors as pearl white and Ferrari red. Many styles feature a built-in sun visor designed to prevent harmful rays, reduce glare and block wind. Two of the frames are metal, but like the plastics have polarized lenses, rubber temple tips and a built-in visor. All styles are Rxable and frames are equipped with “stop” hinges that areoptical quality and have a “swing stop” designed to prevent temples from hitting the lenses.
