Randolph Engineering introduces its fall/winter sunglass collection. The U.S.-based company, which has a heavy military heritage, produces all of its eyewear in Massachusetts. All of the sunglasses are built to rigid military-specification standards and are handcrafted in over 200 steps. The frames are equipped with premium lenses with 100 percent UVA/UVB protection and are rated for driving. The lenses also have an anti-reflective backside coating and an option for high- impact resistant polycarbonate lenses. In order to prevent scratches, the jewelry-quality frames are finished with a durability coating. Available styles include the classic aviator, oval and round-shaped frames. This collection introduces never-before- seen lens and frame color combinations with titanium nosepads, a first for Randolph Engineering. These styles give wearers a classic, masculine military-esque look.

INSIGHT
In 1978, Randolph became a subcontractor for the U.S. military and began creating sunglasses for them. Four years later, the United States Air Force contracted Randolph to produce the HGU-4/P aviator sunglasses directly, making it the prime contractor. Its eyewear not only met but surpassed the military’s rigid specifications standards.
