Featuring precise, handmade frames, the WooDone Eyewear collection is produced exclusively from the local wood in South Tyrol, Italy. The current collection comprises 19 styles, all of which can be accommodated with corrective and sunglass lenses. Each frame is produced by hand from one piece of wood veneer, with a special glazing system that has over 60 specific processing steps. This single piece of wood veneer is composed of eight layers of wood, recycled from tree materials, making all products environmentally-friendly, ultra-resistant, hypoallergenic and easy to clean. The varnish on each frame protects against sweat, wetness and other impurities and has been specifically created for wooden eyewear. Frames are available in four wood shades, including walnut, acacia, dark ash and cherry, each weighing only 13 grams. Temples are completely smooth due to screwless flex hinges that are invisible to the naked eye.

PHILOSOPHY:
“I’ve always been in love with eyewear,” says Thomas Oberegger, co-founder of WooDone. “I own more than 100 different pairs of glasses at home. I’ve always been in love with wood as nature, trees and wood are the core of my home region South Tyrol. Creating the WooDone collection has been as natural as possible while joining my two passions into the design.”

INSIGHT
Founded by two entrepreneurs Klaus Tavella and Thomas Oberegger, WooDone was inspired by the natural landscapes of the Dolomites in Italy. The local wood is obtained from recycled acacia, walnut and cherry tree materials.
