Inspired by the interaction between vertebrae, Rem Eyewear introduces SPINE Eyewear. Constructed with micro-injected metal (MiM) hinges, each frame morphs to fit any face shape or head size, providing a light touch and all-day grip. Described as “eyewear with a backbone,” the collection solves age-old hinge limitations and features four sun styles (previewed here) and eight optical styles to be featured in an upcoming issue. SPINE temples automatically retract when removed from the face due to its dual springs and spun wire cable, heightening its preservation capabilities. Featuring classic, functional shapes, the collection fuses innovation, style and technology together for an everyday wear for customers that want comfortable, durable eyewear with flexibility in all directions. A combination of design talents from all over the world, SPINE is a global collaboration between Rem Eyewear, Mondottica and Centennial Optical.

INSIGHT
Each frame consists of five working SPINE vertebrae which are constantly interacting with one another to create a 90-degree hinge opening. Each vertebra rotates at only 18 degrees in order to share the strain
of all movements.
