Italia Independent is a creative, stylish brand for independent individuals that blends fashion, design, tradition and innovation. The collections revolve around the “Made in Italy” concept with the company revisiting classic icons and creating lifestyle products in order to export Italian style to a global audience. Established by Lapo Elkann, Andrea Tessitore and Giovanni Accongiagioco, Italia Independent was launched in Florence in 2007. Taking inspiration from Stealth, the famous sailboat owned by Avv. Agnelli, Italia Independent presented the first eyeglasses entirely made of carbon fiber. The goal of the brand now is to update the traditional idea of Made in Italy to the next level, creating a Made in Italy 2.0, which is featured here. Included are ophthalmic frames made of light, durable metals and nylon with slim profiles in classic shapes. Some styles feature flex hinges.

One of Italia Independent’s exclusive eyewear technologies is the I-thermic, the first sunglass frame that changes color if exposed to a temperature higher than 30 degrees centigrade. Another exclusive treatment is the I-V in which frames are characterized by a surface treatment UV LUX that makes the glasses soft to the touch as if they were covered with velvet.
