Marcolin launches its prestigious Balenciaga Eyewear and Sunwear line targeted to the timeless, feminine woman. The brand’s radical spirit is expressed through a combination of different materials, contrasting volumes and striking shapes underlined by sophisticated colors. The initial collection includes 12 sunglasses and four ophthalmic frames in aviator, CatEye, clubman, round and square designs revisited with a high-tech spirit and modern allure. Details consist of the iconic cable twist and crackled leather treatments, which evoke a marbleized effect.

PHILOSOPHY:  “Dedicated to an exclusively female market, the Balenciaga eyewear and sunglass collections embody the brand’s signature style,” says Marcolin. The new line represents an elegant and extreme style that with its architectural inspirations gives rise to a highly distinctive collection. The balance of the flowing silhouettes and variety of accents result in a wonderful harmony that speaks to the Balenciaga heritage,” says Marcolin.

INSIGHT
The House of Balenciaga was founded in Paris in 1937 by Cristobel Balenciaga, a Spanish designer. Balenciaga had a reputation as a couturier of uncompromising standards and was referred to as the “master of us all” by Christian Dior. His bubble skirts and feminine, yet ultra-modern shapes were trademarks of the house. Alexander Wang is Balenciaga’s current creative director.
