Marchon Eyewear adds the Nike Young Athlete Suns collection to its Nike Vision line. Designed for children between the ages of 8 and 14 primarily for after sport use, these kid-sized versions of Nike’s popular adult frames offer essential performance features while providing protection and style. Frames are made of lightweight nylon and equipped with polycarbonate lenses featuring Nike’s signature Max Optics and Carl Zeiss lens tints specially made for developing eyes. The collection’s higher wrapping frames protect against dust and wind while keeping Nike’s promise of street-worthy style. Included are five styles offered in bright colors such as laser purple, blue hero and university red combined with white, black and crystal gray.
: “Nike is a brand that provides inspiration to kids, and it’s a brand parents choose for their children as well,” says Steve Tripi, Marchon’s marketing director. “If you give kids the style, comfort and brand they want, it will increase the chance of them wearing their sunglasses.”
: Merchandising materials include a display, poster, countercard, lookbook and window cling, all carrying the tagline “No Compromise.” Each frame comes with a green pouch.

Research suggests that children’s eyes are more at risk from light than adults. The damage is not evident until later in life, but the chance of cellular damage is increased during this vulnerable stage. “We need to make sure we are protecting our kids’ eyes in the same way we protect their skin by applying sunblock,” Tripi notes. Nike’s Young Athlete Suns with Carl Zeiss optics are specifically designed for maximum protection while still providing clean, crisp vision.
