Marcolin: Timberland Eyewear
Marcolin USA introduces Timberland Eyewear. Taking its name from the brand known for its boots and outdoor wear, the new line consists of 10 ophthalmic frames and eight sunglasses and is divided into three collections. Each collection targets a specific male demographic. The Heritage collection is aimed at the 40+ market; the Metro line is geared to the 30+ consumer; and the Edge to the 25+ age bracket. Frame materials include stainless steel and customized tri-laminates. Frames and sunglasses are equipped with spring hinges and adjustable signature temple tips. The metal styles have silicone nosepads. Sunlenses are polycarbonate or CR-39. A special driving lens, polarization and mirror coatings are available. Colors and details take their inspiration from the Timberland brand. Frame colors consist of various shades of brown, blue, black and gray. Orange is used as an interior accent. The Timberland logo is rendered in rubber and metal with a rugged finish.
PHILOSOPHY: “With the new eyewear and sunglass collections, we are addressing the specific needs of the target consumer with quality, durability, comfort, fit, product purposefulness and features that are fully aligned with the Timberland product creed,” says Diane Robazza, Timberland Eyewear brand manager.
MARKETING: Merchandising materials include a four-place display, mirror and logo plaque, all made of wood and leather, leather table mat, countercards, banners and stickers.

Sceats KNECT Eyewear

Getting KNECT-ed
Under an exclusive agreement with Australian-based Sceats Eyewear, A&A Optical is distributing Sceats KNECT Eyewear in North America. The line consists of nine styles, featuring interchangeable temples in 14 colors. Frames are constructed of stainless steel. Temples are composed of the latest generation polyamide with improved memory, elasticity and crystalline clarity. The temple/hinge connection is engineered for ease of exchanging temples. Each frame comes with three pairs of temples—one conservative hue and two more adventurous colors. Temple colors include amaretto, amethyst, aqua, light and cobalt blue, burnt amber, chartreuse, fuchsia, mocha, onyx, red, safari, sun and white.
PHILOSOPHY: “KNECT Eyewear is a part of the long established Jonathan Sceats eyewear line and brings all the sauciness of down under to the streets of America. Color, energy and more than a little attitude, that is KNECT Eyewear,” says A&A executive vice president Rodney Hayes. “We are promoting it as eyewear with multiple personalities that can accommodate your customers’ mood swings.”
