Urband: Frames and Sunglasses

A lifestyle concept

Urband, co-founded by two veterans of the eyewear business, Frederic Ferrant and Cyril Vigier, is inspired by terms such as charisma, harmony, multi-ethnic, savvy, spiritual and visionnaire. The collection consists of ophthalmic and sun styles that feature a patented screwless technology (S-Clip). Made in Japan, the frames are constructed of beta-titanium, tempered stainless steel and acetate. Each style is available in four colors, including dark chocolate, deep violet, indigo blue, light green tea, raw titanium and terracotta. Sunglasses are equipped with CR-39 lenses.

PHILOSOPHY:“Our main focus, besides the development of a new patented screwless hinge technology, is to create a true identity for the collection and the beginning of a lifestyle brand,” says Frederic Ferrant, Urband co-founder. “We want to make the urban, high-tech product and environment accessible to a much larger percentage of the population.”

MARKETING: Each frame is offered in a Multitask case (two sizes for ophthalmic and an eight-base sun case) with cleaning cloth. The display box highlights one frame and case and features the brand imaging.

The name Urband is a combination of the words urban, meaning city, and band, meaning community or group. Inspired by travel, memories and encounters, the Urband collection uses the tagline: “Whoever you
are, wherever you are, whatever you do, you are 100 percent Urband.”
