The newly launched Valentino Eyewear collection, available from Marchon, embraces contrast as the essence of modern style. Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli blend delicacy and strength, past and present in each design, creating a new balance. Vintage shapes and distinctive silhouettes, curvy or sharply architectural, but always feminine, and striking contrasts (lace and studs) characterize the Valentino SS12 Collection. The iconic Valentino “V” becomes a functional hinge element and an elegant design detail.

PHILOSOPHY:

“Contrast is the essence of today. Style is a harmonious synthesis of different elements. The Valentino Eyewear collection, created with Marchon, is part of a complex plan to create strong, recognizable features that exemplify contemporary Valentino style,” say Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, Valentino creative directors. “Skilled craftsmanship and savoir faire couture characterize the project. Aesthetics and technique interweave because innovation can’t exist without appreciation of the past. And always, the elegance of Valentino is present… with a twist.”
