THE VELVET TOUCH

Velvet Eyewear presents its 2012 Velvet Collection consisting of eight ophthalmic styles and 12 sunglasses. Handmade in Italy, the line is targeted to young, feminine trendsetters who want to be noticed, but desire discreet logos and demand quality. While embracing and often setting trends, these designs embody classic, timeless styling. The frames are made of high quality nickel silver or Mazzuchelli acetate. The sunglasses are all equipped with Carl Zeiss lenses with a scratch-resistant hard coating. Each style is offered in three or four colors ranging from metal tones to bone, tortoise, purple, turquoise and red.

MARKETING:
Assorted countercards featuring sun and ophthalmic styles are available. Frames and sunglasses are packaged in a purple box with a purple hard case and pouch.

INSIGHT
Velvet Eyewear supports the arts through its Velvet Foundation for the Arts, which provides recycled materials and funds to organizations that supply schools with essential resources, and also offers creative contests and educational grants to young adults. “Art education shapes and saves lives; it should be available to kids through our educational systems,” says Cynthia Hussey.
