Studio Optyx launches Monoqool in the U.S., a Danish eyewear brand with a quest to bring innovation into eyewear design with its award-winning Helix NXT series. Combining a unique, patented screwless spiral hinge with NXT polymer fronts, the Helix NXT series fills the gap between metal and acetate frames. Each frame is made completely without any screws, bolts or welding and weighs only 5 grams. The result is a lightweight frame that has the volume of acetate and the comfort of metal. A photochromic NXT option is available—the frame changes from clear indoors to dark gray when exposed to sunlight. The Helix series also has stainless steel styles. There are 14 NXT styles in four colors each and 19 stainless steel styles in four colors each, available in men’s, women’s and unisex shapes.
