Jonathan Cate Eyewear introduces Katykids, a collection of children’s eyewear. In conjunction with the launch, Jonathan Cate has written a children’s book entitled “The Adventures of JimBob Jackfoot Episode 1: JimBob Visits the Eye Doctor.” The eyewear line consists of 24 metal and 12 plastic ophthalmic frames—12 boys’, 12 girls’ and 12 unisex styles. Additionally, four Rxable sunglasses (two for boys and two for girls) are available with polarized and non-polarized options. Each frame is offered in a minimum of two colors. Eye sizes range from 39 mm to 47 mm with the majority between 42 mm and 45 mm.

“Our philosophy has been to create a total program for children that centers around the main characters in our book, ‘The Adventures of JimBob Jackfoot.’ Creating an environment is important not only to launch a successful children’s collection, but to do so with style,” says Jonathan Cate. “This philosophy should provide dispensers with a package that will be financially rewarding while offering children a satisfying and ongoing experience.”

A full merchandising package including the book, a Facebook page for JimBob and his friends, a fan club, T-shirts featuring JimBob’s image for boys and LilyMay Bee’s (a friend of JimBob) for girls, and key chains is available. An active website for children is coming soon.
