IndyCar Series race car driver Danica Patrick made history recently at the Indy Japan 300, as she became the first woman to capture a major auto racing victory. The breakthrough win came in Patrick’s 50th career IndyCar start, sealing her status as a champion professional race car driver and one of the world’s premier female athletes.

Wearing Kaenon Polarized since the brand’s inception, Patrick and company founder Steve Rosenberg have been collaborating on product design and branding since 2003. The latest evidence of this partnership is the company’s new Calais sunglass that Patrick was wearing in prototype-form over the rain-plagued weekend in Japan. Calais is adorned with a unique metal-logo treatment inspired by the driver.

A modern-day icon, Patrick has appeared on national talk shows, in music videos, Super Bowl commercials and this year’s Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. She prefers eyewear from Kaenon Polarized for its high-fashion design, superior optics offered by the company’s proprietary SR-91 polarized lens technology and comfort that mesh naturally with her style on and off the track.

“Danica epitomizes who we are as a luxury performance brand—a beautiful young woman who is naturally stylish in her daily life, while also being one of the fastest performers on the track,” notes Rosenberg.
