To celebrate Mick Fanning’s 2007 Association of Surfing Professionals World Championship win, Dragon has created a special gold sport sunglass in his honor. In 1996, Dragon was the first brand to use then-15-year-old Fanning in a photo shoot, helping to jumpstart his sports career.

In 2004, Fanning’s world title aspirations suffered a huge blow when he tore his hamstring off the bone while surfing in Indonesia. To repair the damage, he underwent complex surgery and was forced to stay out of the water for six months. However, determination and hard work prevailed as Fanning came back to win the Quiksilver Pro in 2005. Now, after claiming the title of “World Champion,” Dragon continues to support him with his very own sunwear style, a black and gold rounded rectangle shape featuring Fanning’s family crest on the inside of the temples and the Dragon insignia on the outside. The frames are made from grilamid material and feature eight base-curve shatterproof, polycarbonate lenses that are also available polarized.
