Global Launches PAL Training Program for ECPs — Global Optics, a Green Bay, Wis.-based buying group for independent wholesale labs, together with Innereactive Media of Grand Rapids, Mich., has recently released disc two of the Jumpstart training series, “Jumpstart 2: Progressive Lens Technology.” The CD-ROM provides in-depth information about progressive lens technology and the benefits of dispensing premium progressive lenses in an optical office. Jumpstart 2 is not specific to one lens manufacturer and will provide experienced optical professionals with insightful information as to the pros and cons of various progressive lens technologies, as well as how they apply to a variety of spectacle prescriptions. The disc also contains training videos, animated examples, illustrations, music, narration and more.

The Jumpstart training series is available to professional optical practices and is exclusively distributed by members of Global Optics. Eyecare practices can order the series by contacting the following Global Optics members: Advance Optical Sales Company, Beitler McKee Optical Company, Cherry Optical, CVO, Deitz Laboratories, Encore Optics, Expert Optics, Harbor Optical, Hirsch Optical Corporation, Katz & Klein, Lenco, Peninsula Optical, Professional Ophthalmic Labs, QC Optical, Rite Style Optical, Rooney Optical, Specialty Optical Services, Soderberg Optical and Walman Optical.

Essilor Relaunches Crizal Web Site—Essilor of America has relaunched its Crizal web site, www.Crizal.com. Crizal.com has undergone a complete redesign and now features a more modern look and feel, new features for ECPs and their patients, and easier navigation. The updated site is designed for both patients and it eliminates the need for a separate professional site, such as CrizalPro.com.
