Da Vinci faced its Waterloo and created quite a buzz in the interim thanks in part to Marchon’s Fendi eyewear. The Eurostar train, carried stars of the movie along with director Ron Howard and Fendi frames, to the world premier of “The Da Vinci Code,” which was the opening film of the Cannes Film Festival. Along the way it made it into the “Guinness Book of World Records” after completing the longest non-stop international rail expedition as the train traveled from London’s Waterloo Station to Cannes, France for the first time ever. The Da Vinci Code cast on board the Eurostar also included Tom Hanks, Sir Ian McKellen, Paul Bettany, Jean Reno, Audrey Tautou and 200 members of the press. “The Da Vinci Code” author, Dan Brown, even operated the Eurostar train for a short period. In celebration of the event, Waterloo Station was adorned with giant blow-ups of Leonardo Da Vinci paintings. Fendi was on the caboose of the train and featured an eyewear makeover lounge for the cast and press. Tom Hanks is seen here wearing Fendi style FS1004MP. Helping create even more excitement for the movie, the windows at the world-renowned Harrods department store in London, promoted “The Da Vinci Code” and featured Fendi eyewear. An after party was held at a recreated Louvre Pyramid, housing replicas of Da Vinci paintings and the Fendi 2006 Spring/Summer eyewear collection.
