EUROPA ACQUIRES FRIEZE FRAMES AND ANVI FRIEZE
Europa International announces the acquisition of American-made eyewear brands, Frieze Frames and Anvi Frieze. The purchase includes Full Spectrum Global and American Eyes Manufacturing which will be combined to form a new entity, Independent Eyewear Manufacturing (IEM). IEM will produce high-quality eyewear in its new facility out of Europa’s headquarters in Chicago. The eyewear collections will be rebranded and redesigned by Europa for an anticipated third quarter 2015 release. “This partnership with Frieze Frames will allow us to expand American Eyes’ existing manufacturing and increase distribution at the same time, making more frames and making them accessible to more people,” says Scott Shapiro, Europa COO.

PRODESIGN INVESTMENT A/S ACQUIRES FACE A FACE
The ProDesign Investment A/S, owner of the ProDesign Denmark eyewear business, has acquired French-based eyewear design firm Face A Face. Pascal Jaulent and Nadine Roth of Face A Face will join ProDesign, but will continue to manage their own stand-alone business. Both ProDesign and Face A Face will remain separate in their identities.

CATHERINE DENEUVE AND MARCOLIN CONSOLIDATE PARTNERSHIP
Marcolin Group and Mlle Catherine Deneuve have renewed their licensing agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of Catherine Deneuve Lunettes optical frames and sunglasses. Initially launched through a licensing partnership with Viva International in 1989, this new multiyear agreement has been expanded to include the Marcolin Group.

ZIMCO’S OXYGEN DEBUTS
Zimco Optics introduces the Oxygen Collection, which is made from Ultem, an amorphous thermoplastic polyetherimide memory material that is lightweight and durable. A variety of shapes are available, including squares and rectangles in assorted contemporary colors.

CARRERA AND JIMMY CHOO COLLABORATE ON MEN’S CAPSULE COLLECTION
Carrera, a leading brand of Sàfilo Group, and the iconic luxury fashion brand Jimmy Choo have entered into an agreement for the design, production and distribution of an exclusive capsule collection of Carrera by Jimmy Choo sunglasses for men, following the success of the Carrera by Jimmy Choo women’s capsule collection of sunglasses launched last year. This marks Jimmy Choo’s first foray into the men’s eyewear category, expanding its existing offering of men’s shoes, bags and small leather goods. The capsule collection will feature Carrera’s latest bestseller, the Carrera 6000, with its distinctively-shaped temples, which will be presented in three finishes, combining high performance in a fashion-forward aesthetic.

DAVID GREEN EYEWEAR TO BE DISTRIBUTED BY TRIGON ONE
Cape Town, South Africa-based David Green Eyewear is now distributed exclusively in the U.S. (East Coast), Canada and South America by Trigon One. Carrying the tagline “Unique by Nature,” the collection is composed of real leaves mixed with acetate.
