GOOGLE PARTNERS WITH VSP
Goggle Glass launches its first Rx eyeglass collection in partnership with VSP Global. Under the agreement, Explorers (individuals selected by Google to wear Google Glass) will eventually be able to tap into a network of 30,000 VSP providers throughout the country trained and certified to fit Glass. The program is open to all Explorers, regardless of whether or not they are VSP members. The prescription Glass collection now comes in four styles, all made of titanium and available in five colors.

LUXOTTICA TO LAUNCH DISNEY
Under a licensing agreement with Disney, Luxottica will launch the Disney eyewear collection in April. Targeted to boys and girls 4 to 10 years old, the collection will consist of 14 styles and include Disney’s most iconic characters—the princesses, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Tinker Bell and more.


AVALON SIGNS WITH ROMEO GIGLI

Avalon Eyewear has announced an exclusive agreement with Italy-based manufacturer Logoproject Design Srl for the distribution of Romeo Gigli Eyewear in the U.S., Canada, Central and South America and the Caribbean. The new collection, which contains a full range of optical styles and sunglasses, debuts this month. The eyewear reflects the masterful Italian style of the iconic designer and aims to create innovative styles in tune with modern, high-fashion trends.

ANGRY BIRDS TAKE FLIGHT ON SMITH OPTICS’ JUNIOR COLLECTION

Smith Optics has signed a two-season partnership with the popular video game franchise Angry Birds to license its whimsical graphics on a collection of Smith’s Juniors and kids products, including Daredevil, Gambler and Sidekick goggles. Pictured: Daredevil.

Ogi Eyewear launches its newest brand Innotec. UNDER ARMOUR LAUNCHES UA FIRE HUNTER MAHAN SUNGLASS

Under Armour Eyewear, a division of Eyeking, introduces the UA Fire Hunter Mahan sunglass shield for both professional and amateur golfers. The style features an ultra-light ArmourFusion frame with AirFlow technology, three-point grip, adjustable nosepads, co-molded rubber temples and a wide field of view through its ArmourSight shield. Additionally, Under Armour Eyewear has become the official eyewear of the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). As part of the agreement, Under Armour Eyewear will outfit the Wyndham Cup teams, PING Junior Solheim Cup team in 2015, AJGA staff members and AJGA juniors at the five Under Armour branded events.”
