MARCHON LAUNCHES MARCHON SPORTS EMEA

Marchon Eyewear has created a new sales division that will focus solely on servicing the sporting goods sector, including action sports, general sports and lifestyle retail. Known as Marchon Sports EMEA, the product portfolio will consist of performance and lifestyle sunglasses and snow goggles for Nike Vision, and action sport sunglasses, snow goggles and MX goggles for Dragon Alliance.

SÀFILO EXTENDS LICENSE WITH BANANA REPUBLIC
Sàfilo Group and Banana Republic have renewed their licensing agreement through Jan. 31, 2019, for the design, manufacturing and distribution of optical frames and sunglass collections. The multiyear agreement strengthens a partnership with Banana Republic, originally forged in 2007.

FGX INTROS REEBOK
FGX International launches a 28-piece Reebok ophthalmic collection targeted to the active male who appreciates quality construction and comfort at an affordable price. The Reebok line features sporty styles with subtle pops of color that reflect the American-inspired global brand known for its rich heritage in the sporting goods industry.

NEW YORK EYE RENEWS WITH JOAN COLLINS
New York Eye has announced a five-year license renewal through September 2017 with Joan Collins for the design, production and distribution of her collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses. Originally launched in 2002, the Joan Collins eyewear line is a mix of bold, modern looks and detailed, classic shapes targeted to stylish women between the ages of 35 and 75.

SPY’S OFF TO THE RACES WITH KEN BLOCK
In collaboration with world-class rally car racer Ken Block, Spy releases the 2013 Ken Block Signature Collection inspired by the Day-Glo hues of the ’80s and ’90s. The signature Helm frame is offered in four colorways—assault, concrete, ripper and splatter. All of the frames are equipped with Spectra mirror lenses and come with a bonus pair of temples. EYEWEAR INVENTIONS’ MAG READER RECEIVES U.S. PATENT
Pittsburgh-based Eyewear Inventions has received U.S. Patent Number 8,366, 265 for its Mag Reader. The Mag Reader combines reading glasses with a double strength magnifying lens, and features a built-in LED light and a carabiner that clips onto a purse, belt loop, etc.

ENTOURAGE OF 7 AND BELLINGER JOIN FORCES
Danish eyewear company Bellinger House has added Los Angeles-based Entourage of 7 to its brand portfolio, which includes Bellinger, Blac and Kamaeleon. Entourage of 7, founded by Danish-born Jakob Talbo, is known for its vintage Hollywood-inspired designs and strong sunglass collection.
