LUXOTTICA ENTERS INTO EXCLUSIVITY AGREEMENT TO ACQUIRE ALAIN MIKLI
Luxottica Group, Alain Miklitarian and NEO Capital, the London-based investment firm specializing in the building of luxury brands, announced they have entered into an exclusivity agreement pursuant to which Luxottica will acquire 100 percent of Alain Mikli International, the French luxury and contemporary eyewear player.

IZOD BROADENS BRAND AWARENESS
ClearVision Optical announces IZOD, one of its flagship optical brands, is expanding its brand awareness with the launch of IZOD shops in more than 680 jcpenney department stores across the country. IZOD has also entered into a national-level partnership with 2012 U.S. Open golf champion Webb Simpson beginning in 2013. IZOD’s fall media campaign supports these new relationships beginning with the October issue of Golf Digest in which a four-page spread showcased ClearVision’s IZOD 754 sunglass and IZOD 412, a new ophthalmic release. Additional IZOD print ads were featured in the October and December issues of Men’s Health, GQ and ESPN The Magazine.

MONDOTTICA EXTENDS ANNA SUI LICENSE
Mondottica Group has signed an eyewear licensing extension with the Anna Sui Corporation. The new agreement extends the license until June 2026 and includes all countries except Japan.

MYKITA FOR CARL ZEISS 100TH BIRTHDAY EDITION DEBUTS
In celebration of Carl Zeiss’ 100 years in business, Mykita and Zeiss have created the Mykita for Zeiss 100 birthday edition consisting of 100 numbered pairs of Wynton, a panto shape using Mykita’s ultralight stainless steel concept. The glasses feature Zeiss’ corporate colors—a white frame with blue mirror lenses.

EMBASSY CREATIONS PARTNERS WITH HOYA VISION CARE TO DISTRIBUTE NFL BRANDED FRAMES
Under an exclusive agreement, Embassy Creations, the sole distributor of NFL optical goods, teams with HOYA Vision Care to distribute NFL frames to independent ECPs. The initial offering is a six-piece kit featuring two boys’ styles in two sizes and three colors. All 32 NFL team logos are available. Frames will be personalized to the patient’s order by Embassy Creations and sent only to an approved HOYA laboratory for lenses and finishing.

ANNI SHADES RELEASES FIRST WOOD OPHTHALMIC FRAME
 Founded in 2010 in Alliance, Ohio by Phillip Mastroianni, Anni Shades, an independent eyewear company known for its wooden sunglasses, has introduced its first ophthalmic wood frame, the Overlook. Frames can be fabricated from the Natural Wood collection, consisting of eight woods, such as ebony, curly maple and burl, and the Dyed Collection in nine colors,
or a combination of both.
