Fashion’s love affair with the art world sets a surreal mise-en-scène as Miu Miu debuts its new Culte sunglass collection in the dream-like video art piece “The Woman Dress.” Directed by Giada Colagrande and set to a haunting soundtrack by DJ-trio Au Revoir Simone, the film explores fashion’s dark-side filled with ritualistic obsession and greed. The real siren of the movie—the Culte sunglass—takes on film noir status on-screen among lingering shadows, elegant witches and flickering lights.

To premiere the film, Miu Miu held a darkly enchanting soiree on Valentine’s night during the throes of New York Fashion Week. A stylish trove of indie celebs attended the invitation−only fête including Mia Wasikowska, Leighton Meester, Harley Viera Newton, Willem Dafoe and Marina Abramovic. Following the screening of “The Woman Dress,” guests danced along to sets by Au Revoir Simone and Holy Ghost and tried on the golden-hued frames. The Italian-made sunglasses will be available in select stores and online at the end of May.
