Hoya Announces ‘My Big
Fat Greek Hoya Getaway’ Winners

Hoya Vision Care, North America has announced the winners of its “My Big Fat Greek Hoya Getaway” sweepstakes. In the company’s biggest giveaway ever, 40 eyecare professionals and five  distributor winners will travel in October on an all-expense paid, nine-day getaway for two  to Greece.

“We are thrilled with the level of participation in this promotion,” says Steve Koufos, vice president of marketing and strategic planning. “Between February and May eyecare professionals who sold qualifying Hoyalux progressive lenses or qualifying Hoya anti-reflective coatings were eligible to enter and win the drawing for the Greek getaway or other prizes. We are excited to award this trip to our customers.”

Sweepstakes winners will travel to Athens, Greece, in early October where they will tour such landmarks as Syntagma
Square, the Parliament and the Acropolis. The trip also includes tours of several of Greece’s Cyclades islands, including Mykonos, Santorini and Delos.

Corning SunSensors Contest

Corning announced the winners in its “SunSensors – SA Lab Partner” contest at Signet Armorlite’s Lab Partner meeting, held recently in Carlsbad, Calif. This year’s winners included Bill Heffner, owner of FEA Industries, and Mitchel Hirsch, owner of M.H. Optical labs. Corning developed the contest to recognize Signet Armorlite’s lab partners’ strong support of the SunSensors brand over the years.

Heffner of FEA Industries, a SA lab partner in Morton, Pa., had the top increase in sales for SunSensors lenses for all four quarters of the annual “SunSensors – SA Lab Partner” contest. SunSensors sales more than doubled for the year at FEA Industries. For his successful efforts, Heffner won five high-definition televisions, a $5,000.00 cash award, and a prized Steuben Glass “Rising Star” award. Heffner uses one of the HDTV’s to monitor customer orders and continue to grow his SunSensors business. Hirsch of M.H. Optical labs, a SA lab partner in Hackensack, N.J., had the second largest increase in SunSensors sales for  the year. Hirsch won a 37-inch HDTV for his efforts and says he “is looking to take the Steuben award in 2008.” After the 2007 awards were presented to the winners, Rubin announced the new 2008 “SunSensors—SA Lab Partner”  contest to Signet Armorlite’s Lab Partners. The 2008 SunSensors program will include gift certificates on Apple products that will be awarded to contest winners throughout the year. The 2008 annual SunSensors award also includes $7,500 and a Steuben Glass “Shooting Star” award. All prizes were selected to tie into the high-tech, in-mass photochromic performance of SunSensors lenses.

Shamir Relaunches RCPV
 Rewards Program

Shamir Insight has taken the wraps off of its new ReCreating Perfect Vision Rewards Program marketing materials, including its RCPV Rewards Program web site (www.2007RCPV.com).  The lens maker has added a link to its corporate site, so eyecare professionals can access the RCPV enrollment form from  multiple locations.

“We’ve decided to revamp the look and feel of the RCPV Rewards Program to get eyecare professionals excited about dispensing Shamir premium progressive lenses,” says Matt Lytle, vice-president of marketing. “This is the most generous and exciting rewards program available  to ECPs and warranted a new look. Our trade  advertising will focus on the RCPV Rewards Program as well… we’re excited for ECPs to ‘Dream Big,  Sell Shamir and Earn Cash!’” adds Lytle.

Through December 31, Shamir’s RCPV Rewards Program will pay the following amounts to all ECPs meeting program requirements (minimum  15 pair/month): Shamir Office will pay $6 per  pair; Shamir Piccolo, Shamir Genesis and the OLA Best Lens Design winner, Shamir Creation (clear or Transitions) will pay $12 per pair; Shamir Autograph and Shamir Attitude (clear or Transitions) will pay  $15 per pair.
