The Marcolin Group and Tom Ford International announce the extension of their current licensing agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of optical frames and sunglasses under the Tom Ford brand name until December 2022. Marcolin has held the license since 2005.

SAMSUNG COLLABORATES WITH SILHOUETTE»
Samsung Austria partners with Silhouette Optical to create 3D glasses, which weigh 27 grams. The frames come with Bluetooth technology and the option to be fitted with Rx lenses. Silhouette will design the hingeless, screwless, rimless frame and Samsung is in charge of production and distribution.

KENMARK TO LAUNCH ORIGINAL PENGUIN BY MUNSINGWEAR»
Kenmark Group enters a licensing agreement with PEI Licensing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Perry Ellis International, to design, manufacture and distribute eyewear under the sport apparel brand Original Penguin by Munsingwear. The agreement includes ophthalmic frames and ophthalmic and non-ophthalmic sunglasses. The collection will launch in Fall 2011.

SIGNATURE EXTENDS LICENSE RENEWAL WITH CUTTER & BUCK»
Signature Eyewear has signed a long-term extension for the renewal of its Cutter & Buck Eyewear collection license through Dec. 31, 2014. Originally signed in 2006, the new agreement extends Signature’s exclusive rights to design, manufacture and distribute the brand’s ophthalmic and sunglass collections globally.

 Oakley’s 3D glasses have been granted official certification by RealD, a pioneer in today’s digital 3D cinema. Oakley will offer a range of 3D glasses that will take advantage of the company’s new HDO-3D technology.

MCGEE SIGNS WITH SIMMONS»

Russell Simmons, an American-based entrepreneur and hip-hop pioneer, has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with The McGee Group for an eyewear collection, which debuts this spring. The initial collection, which consists of eight styles, focuses on fashion, comfort and performance.

LG ELECTRONICS AND MIKLI TO RELEASE 3D GLASSES»

LG Electronics, a global leader in consumer electronics, teams up with eyewear designer Alain Mikli to release premium 3D glasses. The frames are made from select metals, featuring Mikli’s streamlined design, Mikli’s and LG’s co-patented nosepads, and spring-hinged temples with extra long tips to ensure fit and comfort.
