A new crop of optical designers gain ground beneath the Spanish moss of Savannah, Georgia. The McGee Group has partnered with the Savannah College of Art and Design to sponsor a design contest and scholarship prize for a student who exhibits outstanding design skills. McGee works with a design class each year encouraging students to devise a new line of cutting-edge eyewear over the course of a semester. At the culmination of the semester students present their designs and concepts at McGee’s corporate offices. After review by the internal team a winner is chosen and announced at the Lion’s Lighthouse Foundation’s Night of Spectacles in April. The Night of Spectacles is a gala event raising money and awareness for the Georgia Lion’s Lighthouse Foundation.
