OLSEN TWINS TO LAUNCH SUNWEAR LINE »
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are launching a sunglass collection for Spring 2010 under their clothing label The Row, produced in licensed partnership with Linda Farrow Eyewear. The collection will feature four aviator, round and oversize shapes. Plans are to target the Olsens’ current retailers, including Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman. The Row is a luxury brand launched in 2007 by the Olsens. Its name was inspired from the historic Savile Row and offers an updated concept of bespoke tailoring applied to modern-day basics.

SCANDINAVIAN EYEWEAR SIGNS THREE »
Scandinavian Eyewear signs licensing agreements with three Scandinavian brands: Lexington, Oscar Jacobson and Pilgrim. Lexington began in 1997 and consisted of home textiles. In 2007, it expanded into a lifestyle clothing brand. Its ophthalmic eyewear collection will launch in August 2010, followed by a sunglass collection for Fall 2010. Oscar Jacobson is a Swedish men’s ready-to-wear brand founded in 1903. The eyewear will debut in August 2010. The Danish Pilgrim brand founded in 1983 is known for its jewelry, watches and eyewear. Scandinavian Eyewear’s first Pilgrim eyewear collection, which includes new styles as well as designs previously produced in house by Pilgrim, was released in October 2009.

The Boca Raton, Fla.-based Silver Dagger brand, known for its distressed denim, hand-stitched evening wear, accessories and jewelry, launches a sunglass collection. Silver Dagger, a leader in club attire, is positioned as a bold, luxury brand targeted to youth and youthful markets. The sunglasses combine high-quality materials with detailed jewelry and leather accents to create sophisticated, edgy eyewear.
