It was Peugeot all the way this year at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the French auto giant ousted Audi from a record string of previous wins with a decisive victory driver-powered by the team of  Marc Gene, Alexander Wurz and David Brabham. This top podium finish was emphatically celebrated with a historic one-two victory as yet another Peugeot manned by Sebastien Bourdais, Franck Montagny and Stephane Sarrazin placed second.

So what did all of these drivers have in common? All six proudly wore TAG Heuer’s famous square-faced Monaco chronograph AND the TAG Heuer Eyewear shield on their racing overalls. But even more important for 20/20 readers Sebastien Bourdais and Olivier Quesnel trumped all in their vision sporting their TAG Heuer Eyewear during the race and on the podium.

The TAG Heuer Eyewear was highly visible throughout the Le Mans racing spectacle. Marc Gene even crossed the finish line wearing his Panorama ophthalmic shield as did Sebastien Bourdais. The TAG Heuer Eyewear support team received complete and critical data and technical feedback from the drivers regarding night vision including stats on distortion and environmental effects related to eyewear under extreme driving conditions at high speed. This partnership between the Peugeot Sport team and TAG Heuer Eyewear has been in constant development over the past three years.

Following on the heels of the F1 world champion title in 2007 by Kimi Raikonen, TAG Heuer Avant-Garde Eyewear makes these new achievements in long distance and endurance racing an advance conceivably unmatched in the field of sport vision.
