Proenza Schouler design duo Jack
McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez
know what women want when it
comes to fashion. The two were
announced as co-winners of theWomenswear
Designer of the Year at the prestigious
Council of Fashion Designers 25th Anniversary
Awards Ceremony. McCollough and Hernandez
are no strangers to the CFDA Fashion Awards,
which honor outstanding contributors to
American fashion—they were awarded the
Swarovski Perry Ellis Ready-to-Wear Award
in 2003.
In September, the pair (shown here flanking
Chloe Sevigny) will demonstrate how their
aesthetic translates to eyewear thanks to a
licensing agreement with L’Amy America, with
their first sunglass collection debuting during
New York Fashion Week.
