el-vis-ion
Elvis’ image has graced everything from T-shirts to coffee mugs to shampoo bottles. He’s even been immortalized on velvet (the true sign of icon status). Now, E.F. Designs’ Outasight eyeglass holder/pin collection features a new way to keep this “hunka-hunka” of a man closer to his fans. Designed to hold the King’s favorite sunglasses—a gold and silver aviator—these pins are available only at Graceland in Memphis just in time for those making the pilgrimage to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Elvis’ death on August 16. The pins, marketed with the tagline “Elvis Sightings: Ways to Communicate with Elvis,” have a magnetic hidden loop for holding eyeglasses.

According to Graceland’s Geralyn Reynolds, the sunglasses are one of the most popular Elvis items. The pins were brought in specifically as a companion to them and come in four styles: The“Look for Elvis” pin, which has a yellow background with Elvis’ profile and signature in black;“E-mail Elvis” a computer shaped pin in blue; “Send Him a Kiss,” featuring a heart and the words “Love Me Tender;” and the record-shaped“Sing to Elvis.” Made exclusively for Grace-land,
these pins combine function, practicality and Rock ‘n’ Roll.    —Noel Hohnstine
