Vision-Ease Lens Receives CEN Award
Vision-Ease Lens was recently honored by the Chief Executive Network (CEN) with the “Best Disruptive Product Innovation” award for the development and successful deployment of its LifeRx photochromic lenses.

At the CEN Innovation Conference in New Orleans, CEN recognized Vision-Ease Lens with the Innovation award for LifeRx’s multi-patented technological achievement and revenue growth in the marketplace.

Chief Executive Network is an industry sector organization for CEOs and senior executives. The network supports its membership with current information on best practices, recent trends and
technological advances.

Hoya Taps ‘Main Man’ for New Training Role
Hoya Vision Care, North America, has named Brad Main manager of training and technical resources. In this new role, main will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing sales development and professional education programs in the U.S.
Main has more than 25 years experience in the optical industry. He started his career with Hoya in 2001 as a territory sales manager. Most recently he served as the Northeast regional training manager.

Main is ABO-certified and is a Fellow in the National Academy of Opticianry. He serves on the advisory board for the opticianry program at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College in Richmond, Va.


Transitions Launches Spanish
Version of Healthy Sight for Life Site

Complementing its ongoing efforts to reach Hispanic Americans about the importance of getting regular eye exams and protecting their eyes from ultraviolet (UV) light, Transitions Optical, Inc. has launched a Spanish version of the Transitions Healthy Sight for Life Fund web site.

In addition to offering general information about the fund and ways to become more involved, the site encourages consumers to take charge of their eye health by taking preventive steps today that will help optimize their vision and protect it throughout their lifetime.

The Spanish version of the Transitions Healthy Sight for Life Fund web site complements Transitions Optical’s ongoing campaign to help eyecare professionals better communicate with their Hispanic patients through a number of educational tools and resources.
