You may know him as the quirky home furnishings designer who infuses his mid-century modern home furnishings with splashes of pop art inspired iconography, vibrant prints and lively colors. And now you should get to know him as a modern eyewear designer who is not afraid of a little zaniness. Rem Eyewear launches its Jonathan Adler women’s collection, consisting of sunglasses, readers and optical frames distributed globally. Frame styles take details from furniture design such as campaign hardware and apply them to eyewear. Circular temple tips are branded “JA,” and custom acetate has been developed specifically for the brand. “I’m obsessed with eyewear. It fits my world perfectly,” says Adler. “Eyewear is glamour. Eyewear is style. Glasses can make or break a guy or girl, so I’m excited to be playing in this world.” 20/20 can’t agree more.
