A&A Optical: XXL Urban
Going urban in a big way
A&A Optical adds the four-piece XXL Urban Collection to its XXL line for larger men. The new collection blends an uptown sophistication with a downtown edge of energy and bling to appeal to young urban professionals and mature urban clientele alike. Included are a full-rimmed metal with translucent temples that display a chiseled wire core, a bold Italian zyl and two semi-rimless designs with strong brow lines (one with a suspended lens look, the other with zyl temples). Four additional styles are scheduled for summer and early fall release.


 
Alain Mikli: Rouge Passion
Seeing red
Alain Mikli International introduces Rouge Passion, a collection of 87 ophthalmic frames and 15 sunglasses, all featuring the color red. Although the collection is new, the use of red is not new to Alain Mikli. From the beginning (long before the hue became an essential part of the fashion mix for eyewear designers), Mikli featured red in all of his collections and is known for wearing red eyewear himself. To him, the color is indispensable for anyone who wishes to be noticed and is a perfect complement to the oversized and bold rectangular and sharp angled designs for which he is known. The new collection features metals, plastics and metal/plastic combinations and also pairs clear crystal with red.


 
Nouveau: Van Heusen Memory Metals
Big in size; huge in style
Nouveau Eyewear, manufacturer of Van Heusen Eyewear, introduces two memory metals to the Van Heusen line. Sized to accommodate the hard-to-fit big man, both designs deliver clean, updated styling, perfectly proportioned for exceptionally large faces. Additionally, the frames utilize premium titanium-based Japanese memory metal on the bridge and temples to absorb shock and maintain ideal frame adjustment, resulting in optimal durability, comfort and quality. Each frame also offers an extra-large size option. One style, Watkin, is a classic softened rectangle with extra width for ample head room and gentle angles that work particularly well on round faces. Lucas is semi-rimless with extended endpieces for added width. Frames are offered in matte brown and brushed gunmetal.
