Efva Attling Expansion 

Eyewear with attitude
Scandinavian Eyewear adds new styles to its Efva Attling line, which now consists  of 50 pieces—half are ophthalmic and half are sunglasses. The new releases reinforce the eyewear as jewelry philosophy of Swedish jewelry designer Efva Attling, combining a touch of art deco with a hint of ’50s retro, Elvis drama and Matrix attitude. Frames are primarily plastic/metal combinations and are offered in fully rimmed, semi-rimless and rimless designs. Shapes are bold and come in colors ranging from clear to gold and black. Accents include open endpieces and temples, silver studs and elaborate logo treatments.
PHILOSOPHY:  ”When I design—whether it’s eyewear or jewelry—I always have to like it myself. I never think of who should wear it. Everyone, young and old, man or woman, should feel free to wear my designs if they like them,” says Efva Attling. “I like to create eyewear with attitude.” MARKETING: Small countercards are available. Nouveau: The Fairly Odd Parents

A touch of magic
Nouveau Eyewear expands its Nickelodeon branded eyewear line with the Fairly Odd Parents collection. The new collection, which takes its name from the cartoon series based on the story of 10-year-old Timmy and his unconventional fairy godparents, consists of three metal styles. Accents include magic wands, crowns and pixie dust on the temples and star-shaped temple tips. All frames are equipped with spring hinges. Shapes are variations on ovals and rectangles. Colors range from semi-gloss rose and shiny purple to semi-gloss brown or tan, shiny gunmetal and a light blue/navy combination.

One of the greatest advantages of Nick Eyewear is a constant stream of creative new shows, so we can always have the hottest character products in kid-dom,” says Nouveau co-president Pat Aptaker. Signature: Eyekeepers

Jewelry with a purpose
Signature Eyewear has obtained the exclusive distribution rights for Eyekeepers, a fashion accessory designed to hold eyeglasses when they are not being worn. Created by noted jeweler, Todd Sensoli, Eyekeepers, which can also be worn alone as a piece of jewelry, are designed with an open circle in the front suitable for holding eyewear, reading glasses and sunglasses. Available in a variety of styles and sizes, the retainers are made of Italian sterling silver and have a front closure and platinum flash finish.

Magnetic closure eyewear

All of the Clic collections, which include goggles, sunglasses and readers, utilize a patented neodymium magnet that connects the two eye rims at the bridge for an easy-on-easy-off operation.
