Senator John Glenn will play a key role in the newly re-designed EyeCare America Glaucoma Project, a program of the Foundation of the American Academy Ophthalmology.
Glenn is featured in a series of public service announcements highlighting the program’s mission: Promoting awareness and early detection. The senator and former astronaut explains to Americans because he was diagnosed early and received proper treatment, he continues to lead a full life, a life that included a second space flight in 1998 on the Space Shuttle Discovery.
The re-designed Glaucoma Project not only encourages early detection and treatment of glaucoma, but it also provides access to care for qualified individuals at increased risk. |
