NEW YORK--Modo’s luxury eyewear collection, Saki, expands with four sleek and elegant new styles using natural materials.

“Saki has embraced its use of natural materials through the use of buffalo horn and Indonesian wood. The natural wood material gives a luxurious appearance and is created by fine Japanese artisans,” said Giovanni Lo Faro, director of marketing and business development.

The wood used in the collection is teak, a closely grained wood from Indonesia that resists warping, rotting, splitting and cracking with proper treatment. The collection appeals to mature, sophisticated customers, baby boomers and the elite. It will also appeal to the environmental-friendly, as the wood does not come from Indonesian’s rain forests, but rather is grown specifically for manufacturing in teak plantations.

The philosophy of the new collection is to “express a sophisticated yet classical style through the use of natural materials...Saki brings nature into luxury eyewear in a practical and useful way,” according to Modo.

The new collection includes three wood styles and one buffalo horn piece. Styles 8001 and 8002 are aviator sunwear styles with a metal frame front and wood temples. Style 806 is a classic rectangular style with wood temples.

Styles are priced to the dispenser from $165 to $195. POP includes counter cards and displays. Saki is distributed to select high-end retailers and optical stores reaching the luxury brand customer.
