Essilor of America is releasing polarized, hard resin versions of its Definity and Definity Short progressive lenses. The lenses block glare, provide 100 percent UVA and UVB protection and are available in grey and brown.

Definity Short is the only digitally surfaced short-corridor PAL now on the market. The lens maintains the benefits of Definity's patented Dual Add design and can be fitted into smaller, more fashionable frames. Dual Add technology creates a unique zone of correction called "ground view advantage." Located beneath and around the near zone, it gives wearers clearer vision when looking down, according to Essilor. With better ground level vision, Definity is ideal for outdoor activities.

“Definity polarized and Definity Short polarized are ideal lenses for patients who maintain an active lifestyle,” says Francois Glon, general manager, Definity. "These are the perfect lenses for active presbyopes who love to bike, golf and enjoy the outdoors."
