POP materials featuring the Carrera Champion from Sàfilo USA.

PARSIPPANY--Proving that what goes around comes around in the world of fashion, Sàfilo USA and Carrera have re-launched four vintage sunglass styles first made popular in the 1980s.

“Carrera is one of the most significant brands in the sunglass industry,” said Claudio Gottardi, president and CEO of Sàfilo USA. “In the ‘60s, Carrera was one of the first to introduce shield sunglasses that became prevalent among many brands in the ‘90s.”

Based on the original designs of the historic Carrera sunglasses that made them so successful in the ‘80s, this capsule collection features four aviator styles that are all made from their original molds. The Champion, Safari, Cup and Gipsy come in a wide variety of retro frame colors including cream and pink, white and blue, black and yellow, turquoise and white as well as shiny red. Three styles are made of Optyl and one of metal, but all are available with gradient lens colors that take these retro looking shades even one step closer to the originals. Polarized lens options are offered on some styles.

The re-launch of the unisex sunglasses will be supported by a guerilla marketing campaign that includes outdoor and print advertising and public relations efforts to boost brand awareness in the U.S. These four styles from Carrera and Sàfilo USA are priced to the dispenser $63.50 and $81.50.
