LONGARONE, Italy—Marcolin S.p.A [MCL-IT] has invested in a new production and logistics site to expand their current headquarters here. Construction of the new site is planned to begin soon and the new building is expected to open in the beginning of 2010.

“Considering the current particular international situation, this investment represents a positive sign of growth and development for the company, which is consistent with the strategic direction oriented to the development of the most important luxury brand eyewear collections, for which the values of ‘Made in Italy’ and quality excellence are inalienable," said Massimo Saracchi, CEO and managing director of Marcolin.

According to the company, the enlargement of the headquarters is planned to meet the company’s needs to increase its production capacity due to the sales growth attained during the 2007/2008 period and those expected by the launch of recently added new collections to the brand portfolio.

In addition, the company also stated that the new site will allow them to further improve their after sales service by centralizing its management at the location and rationalizing their current existing warehouses in Longarone, Sedico and Montebelluna.
