The Maui Jim Hapuna sunglass featuring the company’s new HT lens option.

LAHAINA, Hawaii--Starting with the latest 2008 styles, including the Hanalei, Canoes, Hapuna and Banyans, Maui Jim will offer a new, fourth, lens color option, the Maui HT.

“Our customers are an active group and increasingly require all-day sun protection appropriate for varying degrees of sunlight intensity,” said Chris Abbruzzese, Maui Jim’s vice president of marketing. “We can now offer Maui Jim fans an alternative to sunglasses made for brighter, more intense, light. The Maui HT tint enhances clarity and depth perception in variable and low light situations.”

Maui Jim’s new High Transmission lenses, a mellow amber shade, offer 25 percent visible light transmission and 75 percent absorption, perfect for early morning and late afternoon activities, overcast or foggy days, or when the light conditions are extremely changeable. The Maui HT color option provides greater visibility, boosts color, contrast and depth of field.

Maui HT lenses meet all traffic signal recognition requirements, will be available in prescription in Maui Evolution lenses later this year and are currently available in the newest 2008 styles priced to the dispenser between $89.50 and $144.50.
